Electronic commerce (e-commerce) is having business trade, either in products or services, over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks. E-commerce mainly use for electronic funds transfer, supply chain management, Internet marketing, online transaction processing, electronic data interchange (EDI), inventory management systems, and automated data collection systems.
E-commerce can be subdivided into following categories:
Business-to-Business (B2B)
Commerce transaction between a company with another company. The use of B2B includes provide information about a particular industry for its companies and their employees, act as company websites which defines the company, and product supply and procurement exchanges
Business-to-Consumer (B2C)
Commerce transactions between a company with consumers. The usage of B2B is almost similar to B2B, but is different by it provides products or services direct to the consumer.
Consumer-to-Consumer (C2C)
It involves the electronically-facilitated transactions between consumers through some third party. C2C is use to offer free classifieds, auctions, and forums where individuals can buy and sell through online payment systems.
Consumer-to-Business (C2B)
It is consider as alternative business transaction of B2C. Consumer posts his project with a set budget online and within hours companies review the consumer’s requirements and bid on the project. The consumer reviews the bids and selects the company that will complete the project.
